On March 5th, 2015, the Lowell Tennis team took on the International Jaguars, a highly-ranked opponent from the private school ranks. The Cardinals, however, were unintimidated by the Jaguar’s excellent reputation, and played gritty tennis, falling a win short of an upset win over International. Sam Tick-Raker earned the lone singles win for Lowell, defeating his #2 counterpart (7-5, 7-5). David Mai (2-6, 2-6), Maxwell Ho (6-2, 2-6, 6-10), and Ethan Trinh (1-6, 6-7 (8-10)) each threw wrenches into their opponents’ play style, battling hard against their powerful opponents. In doubles play, the two Jacobs (Goldstein and Ganz) continued their undefeated record together, winning at #1 Doubles. The Chu Brothers played well in the Doubles 2 match, eventually falling in a three-set tiebreaker (6-3, 5-7, 7-10). Seniors Brandon Lao and Joey Zhu capped out the slate with a dominating win (6-3. 6-3).
