Lowell Fencers win 5th in a row

In it's fifth match of the season, the Lowell fencing team facea a tough well coached Wallenberg team.  While the girls squad easily defeated an inexperienced  Wallengberg squad 9 - 0,  The boys faced a much experienced and determined squad of Wallenberg boys.

After the first 3 matches, the Lowell boys found themselves behind with just 1 victory and 2 losses.  But the team hung tough as they were able advance the match score to 4-3.  In the 8th bout it was Lowell's Marc Cunningham who overcame and early 3-1 deficit to come back and win 5-4 over the Billdogs best fencer.  This victory sealed the match win for the Lowell boys 5-3.  But the guys were not finished as sophomore Evan Li, bested his Bulldog opponent 5-4 in overtime.  This was Li's second overtime victory.

And so Lowell ends it's home matches. The team now goes on the road to finish the season against Balboa and Galileo, next Tuesdany and Thursday.  Following the spring break, Lowell will face arch rival University High School on their turf on April 3rd.
