Mission Wins Again

The Cardinals kept the game close in the first half behind a slow paced ball control offense combined with a "don't giving up any layups in transition" defense. The plan seemed to be working especially in the first quarter. The Cardinals held the high powered offense of Mission to just three 1st quarter points.

However the Cardinals were unable to fully capitalize on their defensive efforts, as their offense missed early opportunities ending the quarter with a meager 5-3 lead. 

Despite a slow start, the Mission Bears found their footing in the 2nd quarter to take a 1st half lead, 16-11. And in the second quater, the Bears shifted into another gear and raced out to a double digit lead and never looked back from there. 

The Cardinals end the season with an impressive 7-1 league record, a Battle of the Birds victory, a home playoff win and a championship appearance. 

With the win, the Mission Bears have now won 5 of the last 7 FS Championships include 7 straight finals appearances.

(A special shout-out to the JV Lady Cardinals as they have now won 7 of the last 9 titles!!!)
