Lowell Tennis suffered its first loss of the season in a home match against a familiar rival - the SI Wildcats. In singles, David Mai (0-6, 2-6), Sam Tick-Raker (0-6, 0-6), Jacob Ganz (1-6, 0-6), and Jacob Goldstein (1-6, 1-6), battled valiantly against their private-school opponents, refusing to give up despite the lopsided scores. In doubles play, Maxwell Ho and Ethan Trinh (1-6, 2-6), Hector and Jarek Chu (0-6, 5-7), and Brandon Lao and Joey Zhu (2-6, 4-6) surprised their opponents with brilliant play and teamwork, with each team winning at least an extra game during their second set. While the loss does bring an end to Lowell’s undefeated record, the entire team remained persistent in their drive to win the SI game, testing different shots and serves and trying different strategies against their opponents; gaining invaluable experience that will help the Cardinals win in future matches.
